dc.description.abstractThis thesis is devoted to trying to understand the quantum mechanics of gravity. We consider the low energy dynamics of near extremal black holes. We find that the gravitational dynamics of near extremal black holes are controlled by a one dimensional effective action and the quantum mechanics of the effective action is solvable. We give a simple formula for gravitational backreacted correlation functions and the Wheeler de Witt wavefunctional to all orders in perturbation theory.-
