Abstract: We implemented analytics-gathering in the minority language literacy app template Alpha Tiles using Segment. We collected usage data such as response time and incorrect answers selected. Data was gathered through a pilot program of the app which is running at a bilingual Me’phaa-Spanish school in Mexico. We found that accuracy varied more than response time between grade levels and between games. Students in higher grade levels performed with higher accuracy across the board, and students across grades performed with higher accuracy on games which occurred earlier in the sequence of games. We also found some letter tiles which tend to be frequently confused for other letter tiles.
