Vest is human-computer interaction project that seeks to better understand the usability concerns of cryptocurrencies and design a platform that addresses these concerns. Our research shows users of cryptocurrencies have a strong interest in learning more about how to best manage cryptocurrencies in their investment portfolios and are unhappy with current systems. CryptoVest’s first iteration is an automated investing platform for mobile phones that invests in cryptocurrencies that reflect a user’s provided interests. However, this strategy is shown to have issues related to trust and transparency, as the algorithm trading in the background can be variable in performance. The second iteration of the CryptoVest allows a user to better understand coins available on the market through news and technical whitepapers. This version of CryptoVest also provides users with portfolio management tools such as gain/loss tracking, historical performance, and automatic portfolio rebalancing. Overall, CryptoVest provides a first step in trying to mitigate the interaction between a user interested in investing in cryptocurrencies and the professional trading exchanges that dominate the market today.en_US
