Abstract: | This paper aims to critically analyze the current state of esports as a form of entertainment, especially in comparison to traditional sports. The paper will look at recent growth, participation, viewership, and revenue figures for esports and various traditional sports over various time frames with the goal of estimating potential future growth for the esports industry as a whole. This paper will also briefly delve into why the market for traditional sports has grown so popular over the years and will look for similar traits in the esports industry. |
