Abstract: | This work offers an original translation of three Rigvedic hymns, namely 1.43, 1.114, and 2.33, as well as an original translation of Kumarasambhava 1.54-57 and Shiva Purana 2.2.41. It also offers two sets of analyses, the first being of the the Rigvedic Rudra and the second of the Post-Vedic Shiva. As a result of these analyses, this thesis notes key differences and similarities between the two forms of Rudra-Shiva. |
