Abstract

“The trend towards the growth of tension and violence in the country continued and the Ministry of ·Home Affairs was engaged not only in -taking appropriate administrative measures in consultation, where necessary, with State Governments, but also \in examining the socio-economic forces that lead to such tensions and violence. The Research and Policy Division of the Ministry assisted in this latter task by undertaking studies in selected areas of interest. One of the papers produced in the Division, that on the nature and causes of agrarian tension, has been placed in the Parliament Liberary and a Summary of the paper was placed on the Table. of Lok Sabha.”
