| Abstract: | "The Meghalaya State Commission for Women had organised a National Consultation on Issues related to Single Mothers on the 20th and 21st April 2015 in Shillong supported by the National Commission for Women, New Delhi in collaboration with the State Government. The objective was to bring together women representative from the State Women’s Commissions and civil society organizations to discuss on the grim issues of single mothers, the causes and its implication in the society; to come up with strategies and advocate for change in the existing system and to put forward suggestions and recommendations and to advocate for change in the existing system. " |
