Abstract: | This thesis analyzes the development of Kohler Village, an experiment in garden industrial city and company town planning, the labor relationship between Kohler Company and the Kohler workforce, and the role of the built environment of Kohler Village during periods of labor unrest, namely two strikes in 1934 and 1954, the latter of which is the longest strike in American history. |
