Class Year: | 2023 |
Abstract: | The goal of this project is to create and document a 2D game engine along with a fully functional demo project and custom hardware for running and playing. This undertaking is a great approach to delve into C++ and greatly expand my knowledge base and skill set in the programming language. As an aside, this project is also practical at gaining experience in production of a product with a tight budget and the outsourcing of peripheral work & tasks (the commissioning of game assets.) The creation of this project was intended to provide a solution to creating games without relying on other proprietary applications, which can be limiting and potentially expensive. The project also served as a good central portfolio item that resulted in my recently having landed a job as a software engineer. |
