Abstract: | In response to the social turmoil in the United States around police brutality and anti-Asian hate, amongst many other issues, people have flooded social media platforms with content about social justice topics. Yet existing platforms have significant drawbacks in handling this type of content. ChangeMakers is a new social media platform specifically for social justice content. The application is designed to facilitate higher user engagement with social and political topics and for users to have a higher positive impact on these issues. This paper outlines the need for ChangeMakers, along with the steps taken to design and implement the application. |
