Abstract

“The Ministry of Home Affairs continued to-deal with matters relating mainly to ‘Public Services’ and ‘Public Security’ as well as the welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes, Fire Services, Emergency Relief, ‘Social Welfare Programmes, Supreme Court and High Court Judges. It was also responsible for co-ordination of Man-Power work at the-centre as well as among the various States. A detailed report on the activities of the Ministry of Home Affairs is given in the Chapters which follow. A general survey of the Administrations of the Union Territories will be found in Appendix I to this report.”
