Title: The geometry of black holes
Authors: Li, Samuel

Department: Mathematics
Class Year: 2024
Abstract: We review the proof of the Penrose singularity theorem. In doing so, we consider the interaction between Lorentzian geometry and causality. We also examine the Schwarzschild solution of the Einstein equations. In particular, we cover the deflection of light, the fate of observers falling into the black hole, and Penrose diagrams.
