Authors: Ellis, Samantha
Advisors: Vertesi, Janet
Department: Sociology
Class Year: 2013
Abstract: Throughout this thesis I will dissect the language that is utilized to discuss social media in the business space. I will investigate various theories, content analyses, and dissected interviews to demonstrate how social media relinquishes a notion of control on consumers in the business space. Even though social media has other purposes and uses, I will be looking at the technology specifically with respect to business and how social media is evolving in the business world.
