Authors: Madhavan, Nihar

Department: Computer Science
Class Year: 2015
Abstract: In this project, we describe the implementation of a system for audience interaction with performers during a music performance. We seek to reconfigure the relationship between the audience and performers by designing a system for communication during a music performance using mobile devices. Additionally, we aimed to augment the listening experience in a music performance by using mobile devices as speakers. This system was designed and built with the target of performance in the Spring 2015 Princeton Laptop Orchestra concert. We designed four sections to the piece, testing various relationships between performers and the audience, ultimately resulting in a successful concert performance. We conclude by discussing the performance the interface in concert, as well as potential future work.
