|Title:||audience/performer/device A Human-Computer Interaction System in the Performing Arts|
|Abstract:||We present an interactive performance system comprised of performers and audience members interacting with each other via a mobile application entitled “audience/performer/device”. The mobile application takes input from audience members and transforms the input into seeds for improvisation for a musician and a dancer, thus creating a system in which technology is necessary to the performance but does not invade the creativity of the human participants. We describe the qualitative results of an actual performance using the proposed system.|
