A look into how the industrialization and mechanical reproduction of sound in late nineteenth century has affected sound in twentieth century. This thesis analyzes militarized soundscapes - like those of the First and Second World War, the American protest era of the mid-century, and the United States limited, low intensity conflicts of the 90s - and attempts to write a broad history on the sonic weapon.en_US
