dc.description.abstractThis thesis gives a biological/cultural account of the origins of moral discourse and behavior, showing how we can explain these concepts empirically without supposing the existence of objective moral values. It claims, in light of this account of morality, that moral statements are false insofar as they intend to reference objective moral facts.en_US
