Title: 5 O'Clock in the Orange Bubble
Authors: Keller, Marshall

Department: Anthropology
Class Year: 2023
Abstract: In the modern age of bartending both bartenders and bartending have been evolving. With its evolution, the people who work behind bars have not always been in the spotlight. The aim of this research is to highlight the great bartenders in the Princeton area and show the underlying social structures that create the cultural atmosphere they operate under. Using participant observation along with semi-formal interviews I set out to uncover what cultural practices create the social scene for Princeton bartenders. Through these methods, I will explore how themes of professionalism, taste, and lexicon shape the social, work, and cultural climate for bartenders in Princeton’s bartending scene
